Maia Gurgenidze is a Professor of English Philology at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Her areas of expertise include Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, and Translation Studies. She has been involved in conference committees and international projects. She is a visiting scholar at Meisei University and co-author of Macmillan textbooks. She teaches popular undergraduate courses in language and linguistics.

Prof. Lasha Markozashvili holds a PhD from Adam Mickiewicz University and graduate degrees from Ruse/Regensburg and Ilia State University. He is a Professor at the National Defense Academy in Georgia and specializes in European Studies, Security Studies, and General System Theory. He has published academic articles, participated in conferences, and been an editor of journals in Poland and Georgia.

David Tsiramua joined the administrative team of the British Teaching University in 2021. He has several years of experience in the field of higher education, which includes the executive positions held at a Higher Education Institution from 2015-2019 and the membership of the expert corps of the National Center for Education Quality Enhancement since 2016.

Gaga Gvenetadze is an experienced professional who joined the British University in Georgia in 2021. He has worked with state, non-governmental, and private institutions in Georgia and abroad. Gaga holds a PhD in Applied Social Psychology and multiple Master’s degrees. He is a member of the Authorization Council of Higher Education Institutions and an International Expert at the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency. Currently, Gaga coordinates grant projects and teaches at the European School.

Elene Papidze joined the British University in Georgia in 2020. She has several years of experience working at state and private institutions. Elene Papidze has worked in recent years as an administrator of international tests (TOEFL, TOEIC, Pearson English International Certificate) in a private organisation working in the field of education, as well as coordinating various educational projects.

Revaz Mikadze joined British University in Georgia in 2020. He has experience in marketing for private organisations, creating marketing strategies and specialising in product development and integrated marketing communications. Revaz Mikadze has also worked as a strategic development projects manager for a business consulting agency.
In 2020, he graduated from Georgian Technical University with a Doctor of Engineering in Informatics, with research interests in the structural management of territorially distributed complex systems. Revaz Mikadze also holds a master’s degree in mathematics and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Free University of Tbilisi (2014).

Mariam Shengelia is the Head of the Department of Finances at the British University in Georgia. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the International Black Sea University in 2011 and her Master’s degree in Banking Finance in 2015. Mariam is currently pursuing an MBA at Caucasus University. With over a decade of experience in finance and economics, Mariam is a valuable member of the university’s faculty.

Davit Gvenetadze is an Accountant at the British University in Georgia. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business at Tbilisi State University from 2003 to 2007. Later, he obtained his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Ilia State University between 2011 and 2013. Davit’s educational background and work experience have equipped him with the necessary skills to be an effective accountant at the university.

Ani Demetrashvili is an Assistant for the MA programme in British Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the British University in Georgia.

She graduated from Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, where she obtained her BA in English Philology. Ani then earned her MA degree in Education Administration from Ilia State University.

Ani is currently a doctoral student in Education Sciences at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Education at the International Black Sea University.

Tamar Kekenadze is the Head of the Institute for Research and Policy Development at the British University in Georgia. She obtained a PhD in Economics from Georgian Technical University and has been awarded multiple prestigious fellowships and has completed leadership programmes, including the Stanford Leadership Academy for Development and the European Women’s Academy of Political Leadership and Campaigning. Tamar’s educational background also includes an MA in Computer Engineering and a BA in Computer Systems and Networks from Georgian Technical University. She has completed courses in managing defence, wider security contexts, and generals, ambassadors, and flag officers from renowned institutions such as the NATO Defense Colleague, the Defence Academy in the UK, and John Hopkins University in the US.
