On 15 April 2021, an online meeting of the Advisory Board took place. The board members Ms. Fiona Pocock, Mr. Paul Watkinson and Mr. Edward Jonathan Wolstenholme met David Aprasidze, acting rector of the university. The acting rector informed the board members about ongoing processes at the university. His review included current adjustments in the governance structure, improvements in the infrastructure, updates in the academic programmes as well as recent developments in public relations.
The board paid special attention to the ongoing process of internationalisation of the university. In particular, the concept of attracting young postdoctoral professionals, graduates from leading British universities, was discussed. The board supported the respective plans of the university and agreed to promote the concept in the UK.
