Prof. Lasha Markozashvili holds a PhD from Adam Mickiewicz University and graduate degrees from Ruse/Regensburg and Ilia State University. He is a Professor at the National Defense Academy in Georgia and specializes in European Studies, Security Studies, and General System Theory. He has published academic articles, participated in conferences, and been an editor of journals in Poland and Georgia.

Dr. Ali Tajvidi is a Visiting Senior Fellow at University of Buckingham and Coordinator of the joint BA (Hons) in Political Science at British University in Tbilisi. He is also the founder of Research Forum (RF), established at University of Westminster, where he is a Senior Lecturer in Politics. His research interests include US and EU foreign policy and social science research methodologies. He has published in the UK and US and has taught comparative politics, international relations, EU politics, and more. He is currently working on a book about US foreign policy in a multipolar world.

Giorgi Gakheladze is a Professor of Education at British Teaching University in Georgia. He holds an Associate Professor position at East European University and has been an Invited Professor at Ilia State University in Education Science. He leads two higher education programs and has extensive experience in education, including teaching, research, policy, and administration. Gakheladze was a expert in various public organizations implementing education reforms and is the founder of the Association “Parents for Education” and a co-founder of the Critical Thinking Society.

Dr. Chikhladze is an Associate Professor at the British University of Georgia. She was previously a researcher at the University of Bremen and worked in Georgian public institutions. She has a Ph.D. from the University of Bremen on authoritarian power preservation. Her MA degrees are from Tbilisi State University and University of Oxford, and she specializes in comparative politics and post-Soviet transitions. She has presented and published in academic outlets and teaches subjects including politics of Caucasus and Central Asia, Russia’s foreign policy and comparative politics.

Tatia Chikhladze

Dr. Grigol Gegelia is an Associate Professor at the British University in Georgia. Before joining, he was Assistant Professor at Caucasus University from 2016-2020. He has a Ph.D. from the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, and undergraduate degrees from UCL and Bristol University in the UK. His research interests are political theory and history of political thought, including populism and democracy. He has delivered papers at international conferences, co-edited a book translation, and written articles on politics for Georgian magazines and think tanks.

Tamar Kekenadze is currently studying for a PHD in Economics at Georgian Technical University. She has completed various programmes, including the Stanford Leadership Academy for Development, the European Women’s Academy of Political Leadership and Campaigning through ALDE, and the Rumsfeld Fellowship at John Hopkins University. Tamar has also finished the Managing Defence in Wider Security Context programme at the Defence Academy in the UK, as well as the Generals, Ambassadors and Flag Officers Course at NATO Defence College in Italy. She holds both a MA in Computer Engineering and a BA in Computer Systems and Networks from Georgian Technical University.

Levan Gegeshidze is an Assistant at a British University in Georgia and Associate Professor at the David Agmashenebeli National Defense Academy. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Science at Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, focusing on China’s Grand Strategy. Levan holds an MA from A. Mickiewicz University and his research interests include strategic and security studies, international relations, and conflict resolution. He has presented at international conferences, published in peer-reviewed journals, and written analytical pieces for the National Defense Academy and National Security Foundation.

Levan Gegeshidze

Levan Gurgenidze is an Assistant at the Faculty of Social Sciences of a British Teaching University in Georgia. He holds a BA in History and Politics and an MR in Politics from the University of Exeter. Levan’s dissertation was on the relationship between political stability and democratisation. He also completed an internship at the office of Congressman Erik Paulsen in the U.S. House of Representatives. Levan played a role in the establishment of the British University in Georgia.

Mikheil Shavtvaladze is an Assistant at British Teaching University in Georgia and an Associate Professor at David Agmashenebeli National Defense Academy of Georgia. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and an MA from Central European University. His research focuses on comparative politics, democracy studies, international relations, security, foreign policy, conflict resolution, and state-building. Mikheil has participated in international conferences, was a Marie Curie Fellow, and has several scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals on politics.
