British Teaching University in Georgia is starting preparatory courses for the teacher’s subject exam (English language – Grade 1-12). Intensive and long-term courses are available for those wishing to confirm subject competence.

Intensive course

During the four-week intensive course, those wishing to confirm subject competence will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the test format, test their knowledge and skills on simulated exams, and receive practical advice from the trainer.

• Dates: February 13 – March 17, 2023
• Registration deadline: February 8, 2023
• Number of sessions: 8 two-hour lessons, 3 model tests: at the beginning, during and after the course
• Course fee: 100 GEL

Long term course

During the three-month course, those who wish to confirm their competence in the subject will have the opportunity to learn in depth about the exam format, testing principles, test their knowledge and skills several times on simulated exams and receive practical advice from the trainer. At the same time, one of the main objectives of the long-term course will be for the applicants to improve all four language skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing).

• Dates: March 20 – June 26, 2023
• Registration deadline: March 10, 2023
• Number of sessions: 24 two-hour lessons, 4 model tests: at the beginning, during and after the course
• Course fee: 300 GEL (can be spread over three months)

The teaching process is carried out using exercises similar to the real test. Students of training courses will be provided with all necessary resources.

The courses will be led by the head of the Teacher Training Educational Programme (English Language Teacher for Primary, Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary Levels), assistant professor Teona Khachidze.

Note that after successfully passing the subject exam organised by the National Assessment and Examinations Center, in case of enrolment in a 60-credit programme of British Teaching University in Georgia, the amount paid for the course will be fully deducted from the tuition fee for the programme.
